Hiking the Dogie Trail
After a 9 mile drive out 525C we arrived at the Dogie Trailhead on April 29, 2010. The first thing we noticed is this sign with incorrect spelling. It also decided to sleet when we arrived.
After a short distance on the trail we came to a gate and this metal marker.
There is a sign in box as we entered the area.
The trail descends gradually, but there are no obvious places to camp for about a mile. No sign of water either.
I was surprised at how green it was. I did not expect all the trees.
Entering the canyon we were surrounded by red rocks.
