Bushwhacking
There were ravines to cross and hills to climb
We crossed a moose path. You could see its belly had dragged in the deep snow.
I had not done this hike in over 10 years. We came to a crossroad, whether to go around this mountain or go straight up. Of course, the always eager Erika chose the difficult path.
Although very difficult, with Erika waiting for me at the top a good 10 minutes it proved to be the right choice. We came out exactly where I wanted to be.
Erika's undaunting smile stays on after the grueling climb. She had also broke trail because of her youth and vigor.
Still inquisitive, she could not resist being a nosey neighbor.
